Praying tonight for Lancaster, PA, for my neighbors, my friends and my church family...
Our Prayer Huddle prayer tonight:
We want to pray for ears and hearts to hear - from our neighbors who are hurting and frustrated and to hear from God to know how to walk alongside, to lament, repent, comfort and grieve together.
We want to pray for the protest organizers to bear their hearts and their burdens and for city leaders to hear their pain and frustration
Pray for city leaders to offer and enact real solutions that address the underlying issues of racial inequality and systemic racism
Pray for students to be lifted up and for for teachers to be empowered to teach
Pray for peace to reign as men, women, and children come to know Jesus
Pray for the church to live love in every interaction and in every relationship
Pray for justice to flow like rivers and righteousness to flow like never-ending streams... (Amos 5:24)
Pray for God's people to not use the Bible as a prop, to stand on the Word of God and that He will be revealed as His People, called by His Name, have surrendered themselves in repentance and humility.
Pray that the Lord of Hosts would be exalted in justice for all and that the Holy God would be revealed in all His Holiness as His people live righteously (Isaiah 5:16)
Pray that Crossroads would cease to do evil, learn to do good, seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widows cause.
Pray for the people of Crossroads to do justice, love mercy (and kindness) and to walk humbly with The Creator of all... (Micah 6:8)
As we pray for justice and peace in our city we know that this is not only a system or societal issue - this is an issue rooted in the heart of man since before Cain slayed Abel. That in the same way sin is always crouching at our door, and we make the choice to master it or give in to it. Father, as the enemy attacks us, I pray that we would turn to you and away from the darkness within our own hearts to allow the Love of the Savior, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to guide and direct us in all peace. That justice would be a joy to us as it is a terror to those who pursue evil.
Father, I pray that those who would seek to sow division by instigating violence would be revealed, that their plans would be exposed and crushed and those who seek true justice and peace for their city, their neighbors and their families would find it in the deliverance that you provide.
Father I pray... when the words fail and the heart aches... I pray for the Healer of All to reveal Himself in Power and Might... Come Quickly Lord Jesus we ask... In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who lives and reigns for ever and ever - Amen.
